TE Mod Series – From Rags to Bitchings

The process of modding my TE stick has become a fairly frustrating one.  When detailing the parts in my previous post, I spoke of how my ordered assembled chimp arrived at my house as a non-assembled mess.  I should have known right then and there that it was only the start of my problems.  I intentionally waited on throwing this rant up here, because I wanted to see what sort of customer service I was going to experience first.  Everyone’s human, and everyone makes mistakes.  I wanted to see how these places were going to handle it. TE Mod Series – Parts, Parts and More Parts

So today marked the first batch of parts that have arrived.  Obviously, I’ll take more pictures as these items get intimately introduced to my TE Stick, but I wanted to show you what all is going to eventually make it into the stick before I start work. [Read more...]

10 Days In: Bayonetta & Darksiders

On January 5th, North America saw the release of their first two action titles of 2010 of arguably what might be a saturation of genre for the start of the year.  Well, that’s at least what the debate has been thus far.  If you’ve been frustrated over which action title you should dedicate yourself to, you might as well stop because Bayonetta and Darksiders aren’t even in the same club.  [Read more...]

A Billion MW2’s and a Partridge in a Pear Tree

Looking back on the holiday season of 2009, it’s hard to not notice the selling power of the wave that is Modern Warfare 2.  According to an Activision press release today, Modern Warfare 2 has reached the $1 Billion mark for sales.  Around the Gamers Only Older community, the fanfare for MW2 seems to be waning a bit.  Between the inclusion of other holiday titles and perhaps the over saturation of first person shooters, I’m starting to wonder if this record breaking monstrosity is really worth all the sales it’s getting.  I’m torn, is it just because it’s the newest Infinity Ward Call of Duty, or is it because it’s really just that good?

Maybe when I put down Darksiders, Bayonetta, and Assassin’s Creed 2 I’ll bother to find out,  then again, White Knight Chronicles and Final Fantasy XIII are just around the corner.

TE Mod Series – The Unboxing

Anyone following me on twitter (now “@GooSau” for my personal tweets) knows that I’ve been extremely excited about what came to my doorstep via UPS last night.  With Christmas gift cards reducing the cost to a mere $2.56 shipped, I was able to pick up my newest gaming project.  This post is the first in a series [Read more...]

The Nintendo Controller

Today I had to make a trip to my local Goodwill store to drop off a couple of boxes of the random things that tend to accumulate in my house. After visiting the donation side, I figured that I would walk through the store to see what it had in stock. Hidden away in a small box on the back wall was a treasure trove of various video games and accessories from years past. [Read more...]
